Please join us this year at Lighthouse Baptist Church for the holiday season as we study Advent in a practical application by incorporating a classic Christmas movie. So instead of being a Grinch, we ask, “Who is stealing your advent?”
A 2023 Advent Schedule
Below you will find the Advent schedule with the different sayings we will use to springboard us into how we look for our answers in scripture.
November 26 – Hope
“Gifts, gifts… gifts, gifts, gifts, gifts, gifts! You wanna know what happens to your gifts? They all come to me in your garbage. You see what I’m saying? In your garbage. I could hang myself with all the bad Christmas neckties I found at the dump.” – Grinch
Morning Worship at 11 am
December 3 – Peace
“Hate, hate, hate. Double hate. Loathe entirely.” – Grinch
Morning Worship at 11 am
December 10 – Joy
“Blast this Christmas music! It’s joyful and triumphant.” -Grinch
Morning Worship at 11 am
Christmas Sweater Sunday – December 10th is also our Christmas Sweater Sunday. This opportunity is to show off your favorite sweater. It can be happy, funny, unique, or ugly.
Church Christmas Dinner
“4pm dinner with me…I can’t cancel that again!” – Grinch
One of the events we look forward to every year is gathering with the church family and celebrating a Christmas meal together. We hope you will join us this year.
Christmas Dinner at 4 pm
December 17 – Love
“Don’t forget the Grinch. I know he’s mean and hairy and smelly, and his hands are cold and clammy, but I think he’s kinda… sweet.” – Cindy Lou Who
Morning Worship at 11 am
Kids Singing – December 17th is when our kids will sing at the beginning of the Morning Service. This is a sweet time of celebration, and watch them sing in service.
Happy Birthday, Jesus!
We will have a special fellowship time for the kids attending Lighthouse during our Children’s Church service on Dec 17. We will have a Happy Birthday Jesus fellowship and celebration!
Morning Candlelight Service
December 24 – Christ
Sunday, December 24th starting at 11 am
“It came without ribbons, and it came without tags. It came without packages, boxes, or bags.” “Maybe Christmas (he thought) doesn’t come from a store. Maybe Christmas perhaps means a little bit more.” – Grinch
We encourage you to come to a family time of worship and celebration of the birth of Christ. There will be no Sunday School or Children’s church, but don’t worry, we will keep the service moving with many different events and fun moments for everyone, including ending our service with a candlelight song.
Also, before our Christmas Eve service, we will have a special fellowship time for the children, kids, and families in our foyer. We will have a hot chocolate bar and coffee for fellowship and celebration.
