Children and Nursery

The heart of children’s ministry at our church is to teach kids about who God is and how His word applies to their lives in creative and memorable ways. We want kids to know that the Bible is full of interesting events that matter in their lives today, that fun and games are allowed at church, that worship can be full of loud music and silly dancing, and that there are adults in the church who genuinely want to love and lead them closer to Jesus. In other words, we want them to know that where God is, life is a lot more fun! Through engaging teaching and supportive environments, we aim to guide kids to better understand a real relationship with God.

Our Message to Parents

Welcome! We love the sound of kids in our service. (Yes! That means the crying and the loud noises. It really is ok. We genuinely want to help. However, we also understand that we are not “mom” or “dad” or whatever toy that they currently want…again, it’s ok.)

Here are some ideas to keep them engaged:
Relax:
It’s OK for kids to be kids.
Sit Close: Consider sitting up front where it’s easier for kids to see. (During special events, like baptism, we will invite them forward so they can see better.)
Explain: Kids are curious! Explain what’s happening in the service. And if you don’t know…tell them. But also say, “Let’s go ask Pastor Mark, or someone, after service and find out together.”
Participate: Kids learn by mimicking what you do. So sing, pray, respond, etc. Kids will follow your lead.
Wander: It’s OK to move around. Sometimes it’s easier to let fidgety kids wander.
Need to Leave?: No problem, but please come back! Sometimes kids just need a break. We do offer a “comfort room” by our nursery. However, sometimes they need a break to walk the hallways or get water from the fountain.
Ask: Do you have a question we don’t address on the website? Just ask. Click the button below to send an email, or go to our contact page.

Nursery

We have a nursery for newborns and toddlers and classes for preschoolers. All of our programs are designed to lay the foundation for kids to have continued conversations about God and what He’s doing in their lives at home. We’re excited to partner with parents to lead the children in our church to truly experience God!

For safety reasons, we do not publicize the location of our nursery on our webpage. As a result, please ask someone at our welcome desk for directions or look for our nursery and comfort room signs.

Children

Let’s face it: no parent looks forward to the weekly battle of getting their kids to church. None of us wants the church to be a place our kids dread going to. And the good news is, we don’t think it has to be! Our goal at Lighthouse is to create fun, exciting environments where kids can experience God. We hope to make church a place your kids can’t wait to get to each week!

Sunday School

One of the exciting items that we offer is Sunday School. Our classes start at 10:00 a.m. We currently use the Gospel Project for Kids. You can click on the image below to learn more about this awesome curriculum.

Children’s Church

Part of that excitement each week for children is offering Children’s church. Our Children’s church helps reinforce biblical lessons in an age-appropriate way. Aimed at children 4yrs old to 6th grade, this is a great opportunity for us as Lighthouse to invest in the next generation.

For those under the age of 4, we offer a nursery during this time.

For those over 6th grade, please click here for our student page.
